Our service is operated by
Sophia Sakellis, a highly qualified native Greek speaker with over 20 years of translation experience. Sophia completed her
primary, secondary and tertiary education in Greece, obtaining a Bachelor of Science equiv. degree in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece, and, subsequently, a Master of Science in
Physics from the University of NSW, where she also worked as a Tutor while doing research in Astrophysics.

She was awarded a two-way, English into Greek & Greek into English,
NAATI Professional Accreditation (Level 3) in 1997 and has been a freelance Professional Translator since. She
has been working full-time as a panel translator for leading agencies and Australian Commonwealth, State and Local Government organisations, and is a professional member of the
Australian Institute of Interpreters & Translators (AUSIT) and the
Panhellenic Association of Translators (Πανελλήνια Ένωση Μεταφραστών - ΠΕΜ).

Sophia has recently completed a Diploma of Language Studies and a Master of Arts by Research at the University of Sydney's Department of Modern Greek and Byzantine Studies, where she is currently
a PhD candidate.

She has taught Advanced Greek as a casual Lecturer at the University of NSW, and is currently a Lecturer in Translation
Studies at Macquarie University's Department of Linguistics and the University of Sydney's Department of Modern Greek and Byzantine Studies.

In 2012, Sophia received a community volunteering award for her support of her local high school as
P&C Secretary and other roles.

Sophia takes an active interest in both the Greek and English language and literature and keeps in touch with new terminology and the latest advancements in
technology and its applications.
